Hola! Yesterday was a birthday party day and neon party day. I went to both and both were really fun and I'm glad that I went! I have never seen so many people at a birthday party in my whole life. There had to of been over 100 people there. Thankfully it was outside. I was able to converse with quite a few different people that I have never met before as well as talk with some of my friends too! Something I'm realizing that is a huge part of Mexico, or maybe just among international students is a liking of different kinds of alcohol. I've been able to try different ones and I'm learning what I like, which isn't a lot of what I've tried so far! Upon arriving to the birthday party, one of my friends Matteo (German) was kindly pouring a shot of vodka from the bottle into people's mouths. Boy, did that have a kick to it! Hahaha. I didn't know what to expect, but it was definitely strong. They played different kinds of music including some salsa songs and the classic Ricky Martin songs of course. I didn't show any of my salsa moves though ;) After we were at this birthday party for a while we then all headed to the neon party which was at a club called Habitat. It was kind of cool looking! Upon entering it had a jungle type of theme to it with real trees and greenery, and you also got a free shot of tequila. Boy, did that have a kick too! My goodness. Then before entering the dance floor part, there was this bar and sitting area and there wasn't a roof on this part of the club so you could see the stars and that was pretty cool. And then on the dance floor, of course there was neon lighting and it was dark and people were putting neon paint on their faces and stuff and people had glow in the dark neon little sword things and necklaces and all sorts of stuff! The music at this club was so different! They played so many different genres! Ranging from techno/electro type of stuff to American rap like old school DMX "Party Up" to Soulja Boy "Crank That" and even really old school Ludacris "Move 'expletive'", - When I heard this song I immediately thought of Late Night Hashtags with Jimmy Fallon and the one titled #Sharkrap. Hahaha. If you haven't seen it, watch it! It's so funny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4Q0yn81R-U
Anyways, then they would start playing random really old school songs like from the Beatles! So strange! It was a lot of fun though! And then on the way home I took a taxi with 2 friends and the taxi driver was listening to Chingy. It was just too funny and a true blast from the past. I enjoyed it!
And then today I've just worked on homework, watched some netflix and am going to the movies tonight with a few friends :)
P.S. It's still really hot here and I only have 11 weeks left!
Hasta Luego!
Dude, that club sounds so fun. I want to go! Especially because it sounds like they play my kind of music :)
