So last night kind of last minute, myself and 3 friends decided we wanted to go to San Miguel today, and I'm really glad we did because we had so much fun! San Miguel is such a beautiful city and it's only like 1 hour and 20 minutes by bus away which isn't too awful and it's really cheap too! It was only like $10.00 round trip! Oh and on the little bus - it was like a greyhound bus, there was a movie playing so I got to watch Catwoman in Spanish. It was quite entertaining, haha and on the way back Beastly was playing in English with Spanish subtitles. While in San Miguel we walked around and went inside a lot of different churches and took pictures. We also ate at a cute little restaurant and I had little quesadillas. They were really good and I had lemonade with it as well. The lemonade was super fresh! We also did some shopping and I got a few presents for people. After this we ate some ice cream. I had berry cheesecake and coconut. (1 scoop of each). It was probably the best ice cream I had in my whole life! It was SO GOOD!!!! Nothing beats ice cream in Mexico, especially on a hot day. I wore shorts today. We also walked through a botanical garden which was basically a bunch of flowers, herbs and stuff for sale. Not the coolest thing in the world, but it was entertaining for a hot second. There were also a lot of cacti there in the botanical garden too. People eat cacti here too. I heard not a lot of people like it, but some too. I don't know how brave I am to try it though. I think I'd eat cacti before I eat grasshoppers (yes, people eat grasshoppers here).
Overall, I had a really good day and it makes up for literally not even leaving the house yesterday and also not being able to watch the Bachelor on television tonight. I'm going to have to figure out a way to watch the Bachelor eventually.
It's a short post tonight, but I wanted to update you on my little trip with pictures too before I forgot and before too much happened.
Hasta Luego!
I am all caught up with your blog. What makes the ice cream so good? Does it taste different than our ice cream? What has been your favorite place to visit so far? I love all the photos. When you get home - you will have to make us some of your favorite Mexican dishes...all the photos that I have seen of the meals look yummy! We miss you and love you!
ReplyDeleteThe ice cream is often and it has more flavor, and even flavors that the US normally doesn't have or that I've ever tried - like the coconut, and cheesecake. It's just really good! I really liked San Miguel, and I'm going to Teotihuacan on Saturday so we'll see how much I like that too!
DeleteLeah I seriously was laughing out loud at this post.
ReplyDelete"We also walked through a botanical garden which was basically a bunch of flowers, herbs and stuff for sale. Not the coolest thing in the world, but it was entertaining for a hot second." This sounds like something I would write!!!
The churches are incredible! And look how beautiful and blue the sky is! I'm jealous that you are wearing shorts. I am excited for shorts weather!
