On Friday for dinner I had tacos which were so good!
Saturday morning, Laura had to leave in a hurry and didn't have time to make me breakfast so I took it upon myself to create a beautiful breakfast tower of french toast with bananas and syrup.
there were a bunch of food tents in El Centro yesterday, so we all got some drinks which were rather tasty. Brea, Nikki, and I both got pina coladas and Antoinette and Jaimie got the drink "sex on the beach." I was not expecting the pina coladas to be this big, so I didn't even drink half of mine and it was definitely more alcoholic than sweet.
with our drinks :)
in the Cathedral
The pretty courtyard inside the Museum we went to. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pics while in the museum, so we took it upon ourselves to take pics outside of the "museum part" of the museum.
There were also orange trees in this little courtyard and we took the liberty of picking some, but they were definitely not ready to be eaten and had quite a citrus kick.

After the museum, we strolled around el Centro some more and bought some things, and then we were super hungry so we went to a sushi restaurant. I can't even classify mine as true sushi because it was jamón serrano, but it was good! And then after this the churro markets were open (they are only open at night) so we got some churros. I forgot to document mine, but it was so good and filled with lechera.
And today, I took the liberty of making MORE french toast towers and this one is with apples and syrup and it was delicious. Then I worked on an assignment and emailed the prof the assignment and now I'm just chilling because a ton of people went to the beach festival this weekend and the girls I hung out with yesterday are all doing things with their host families today like traveling to different places and stuff. I might just stay inside today, or maybe I'll venture to the mall which is like a 7 minute walk and walk around there for a bit.
We don't have school tomorrow, so I'm going to movies tomorrow with my friend Judith, but I don't know what time. I know a group of my friends are going to San Miguel tomorrow, so maybe I'll do that too. There are just so many places to see and things I want to do while here in Mexico! I have to keep in mind that I am here until the end of May so that is a lot of weekends that I have to do a bunch of different things and to shop. haha. I should probably start budgeting my money a little bit to make sure I'm not going crazy. Thank goodness everything is cheap around here though! :)
I'm going to Teotihuacan this coming Saturday so I am SUPER excited for that! That will be so much fun and it will be a whole day excursion!
Hasta luego!
It sounds like you had a great weekend! I love the pictures.
ReplyDeleteRest in the Lord today, my love.
